read this before your next Workshop

Earlier this month, I sent out an email about what to start thinking about if you’re considering a fall launch (missed it? Read it here).

And honestly? I’m still deep in that launch mindset with a lot of my clients -  planning, tweaking timelines, refining messaging, shifting dates.

So today, I want to take it a step further and talk specifically about workshops… and when I say workshops, I mean any live virtual experience: your webinar, your mastermind, your group activation call, or your free challenge.

Here’s the thing: these short-form offers often get brushed off as “small,” but they’re actually one of the most powerful ways to grow.

They’re how people find you.
They’re how they feel you.
They’re how they enter your world
and get a taste of what it’s like to be held, taught, challenged, and supported by you.

They’re not just warm-ups, they’re the beginning of transformation. And when done well, they can become the most aligned, ease-filled part of your launch strategy.

If you’re thinking about running a workshop or live virtual event this fall (or anytime really!), here are a few things I recommend keeping in mind, whether it’s your first or your tenth:

Start with what your community is already asking for

Your workshop topic doesn’t have to be wildly original; it just has to be resonant. What are you talking about again and again on client calls or in DMs? What do people keep circling back to, asking for help with, or saying they wish they understood better?

That’s your theme.

And make it super clear what you're teaching. Even more importantly, what the transformation will be. What shifts by the end of your time together?

Map out your promotion runway

Give yourself at least two full weeks to promote. Then define what promotion actually looks like for you.

Are you sending emails to your list? (I would recommend sending at least 2-3)

Are you showing up on stories daily or a few times a week? Do you need some story templates so you’re not always in creation mode?

Do you need to set up a ManyChat automation to share the registration page with leads?

Whatever your marketing rhythm is, make it consistent and sustainable. (This is where batching helps.)

Prep your content with structure

Even if you’re not a slides person, a simple outline keeps you grounded. Here’s a structure I love:

  • Welcome + who you are + why this matters

  • Key lesson or framework (1–3 main points)

  • A personal story or example

  • Live coaching, reflection, or Q&A

  • Call to action or invitation to go deeper

Plan your post-workshop experience

Will there be a replay? How long will it be available? Are you sending a follow-up email with next steps or an offer to work with you?

That post-call moment is prime connection time, make sure you’re clear on how you want to guide them next.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from supporting so many launches behind the scenes it’s that these workshops are often where the real magic begins.

They don’t need to be perfect.
They just need to be aligned, clear, and created with care.

So whether you’re in the idea phase, already outlining, or dusting off an offer that wants to come alive again,I hope this gives you a framework to work from and some encouragement to trust your vision.

And if you want help? This is what I love supporting. Whether it’s co-creating the strategy or making sure everything actually gets done… I’m in it with you.

You don’t have to do it all alone.
